The holiday season is officially here—and with it comes potlucks, family gatherings, and plenty of delicious meals. Whether you’re hosting or heading to a party, chances are you’ll be using aluminum trays and foil to prep, cook, or transport your dishes.

The good news? Aluminum is one of the most valuable materials you can recycle. From cooking trays and foil to cans and bottles, these items can all be recycled through your single-stream bin at home, work, or school—and they’re also accepted at CHaRM.

Where Your Aluminum Goes
When you arrive at CHaRM, you’ll drop off aluminum in the clearly labeled collection containers. From there, the scrap aluminum heads to SA Recycling, where it’s processed and used by manufacturers to create new aluminum materials.

Aluminum cans and bottles collected at CHaRM also support Recycle For Good, a partnership between Novelis, AMB Sports + Entertainment, and Habitat for Humanity. The program uses proceeds from recycling these materials to help fund home builds right here in the community.

How to Prepare Aluminum for Recycling
To keep aluminum’s value high and ensure it can be properly recycled, make sure it’s clean, dry, and free from food contamination. After you compost any food scraps, simply wash trays and foil when doing dishes—or place them directly into the dishwasher.

A Material That’s Infinitely Recyclable
Aluminum can be recycled over and over again without losing quality. By preparing and recycling it properly, you’re helping divert materials from landfills and keeping valuable resources in circulation.
Make your CHaRM appointment today and keep aluminum in the system this holiday season.
