How do we teach our children to conserve and preserve?

Simple answer—start early and lead by example! Live Thrive is working to bring environmental education to all levels through the CHaRM facility.

Education and Tours

Live Thrive offers a variety of educational opportunities for the general public, schools, civic and corporate groups.
From on-site tour experiences and field trips to off-site Lunch and Learns and career days,  Live Thrive provides customized experiences for all groups. If your group is larger than 20 people, email education@livethrive.org to ensure we have enough staff coverage for your visit.

Each of these sessions above can be customized for the following types of groups and events:

Group Facility Tours

Who:
Community, civic or corporate groups

Description:
This experience includes
an overview of Live Thrive’s mission, history of Live Thrive and CHaRM, information how the materials are collected and processed on-site, tips for sustainable materials management and recycling 101, and a full tour of the CHaRM facility! 

Cost:
$10 per person

Duration:
45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes 

Additional Info:
Free onsite parking available for groups.
Be sure to dress for the weather as most of the tour is outdoors. Closed toe shoes required.

School/Home School Field Trips

Who:
Schools, classes, homeschool programs, summer camp groups and more! 

Description:
This field trip includes
an overview of Live Thrive’s mission, history of Live Thrive and CHaRM, information on how the materials are collected and processed on-site, tips for how to incorporate sustainable materials management and recycling 101 at school and at home, an interactive game, and a full tour of the CHaRM facility! The tour of site will include educational components that are based on what the group is currently focused on and learning about. For example, natural resources, climate change, recycling basics, etc. 

Cost:
Free for schools. 

Duration:
45 minutes – 1 hour and 15 minutes

Additional Info:
Parking available on-site for buses. Be sure to dress for the weather as most of the tour is outdoors. Closed toe shoes required.

Lunch and Learn

The Live Thrive team can come to your organization, school, community meeting space, office, etc to cover all topics that the on-site tours include (ie. Live thrive/CHaRM history and function, recycling 101, interactive activieits and more.  or host a virtual meeting to discuss Sustainable Just like the group tours, these sessions are customizable based on the interests of each group. Email education@livethrive.org to schedule a Lunch and Learn!
