Glass is one of the most recyclable materials around—and when it’s sorted correctly, it can be recycled again and again with no loss in quality.

At CHaRM, we accept food-grade glass and flat glass, which are collected separately on site.

Food-grade glass includes items that come into contact with food and drinks, like bottles and jars. All colors go into one container, labels can stay on, and glass should be empty and clean. Caps, lids, and corks should be removed and taken to their designated stations.

Flat glass is treated with chemicals and used for structural or architectural purposes. This includes picture frame glass, shower doors, microwave turntables, and drinkware. Items like mirrors, ceramics, Pyrex, porcelain, and China are not accepted.

Once dropped off, glass is sent to Strategic Materials and Ripple Glass, where it’s processed into new bottles, containers, or even fiberglass insulation—sometimes in as little as 30 to 60 days.

Recycling glass uses less energy and helps divert materials from landfills and waterways. Make your CHaRM appointment and recycle your glass the right way.
